Please note: all volunteers must have their own transportation, and volunteers under the age of 16 will require a parent or guardian to accompany them at all times. Drop-offs and pick-ups are not permitted. Volunteers must also sign a liability waiver before being allowed to volunteer. Volunteers under the age of 18 will need a parent or guardian to sign the liability waiver.
Community Service
We allow community service 7 days a week from 8-5 pm. We do take lunch from 11:30-12:30 daily, so you must leave the property at that time. You can get 8 hours of community service a day if you start promptly at 8 am, and if we have work for you (we make no assurances about the number of hours you can earn in any given day). Be sure to bring all required paperwork with you, and wear work-appropriate clothing that you do not mind getting dirty.
Every Community Service worker is required to read and sign a liability waiver. C.S. workers under the age of 18 are advised to print the waiver so that a parent or legal guardian can sign it and bring it on their first day. A C.S. worker can not work without a properly signed waiver.
If you have not done community service at Lone Star Sanctuary for Animals before, then you will be required to show up on your first day at 8:00 sharp. You will not be admitted late. (This is because we must give you a quick training orientation, which we are unable to do once we begin with our daily work routine.
