Secure the Animal ​

Secure the Animal – Calmly contain the stray in a safe area away from traffic or other animals. Use a leash, crate, or fenced space if possible.

 Check for Identification ​

 Look for a collar, tags, or a microchip. If possible, take the animal to a vet or shelter to scan for a microchip.

Provide Temporary Care and Seek Help

Offer water, food, and shelter in a safe space while you contact local animal shelters, rescues, or lost-and-found pet groups to find the owner or arrange proper care.
